Setting Up Website
Check out the training to help you set up your website -
Your website showcases more than just your products. It helps build up your tribe’s trust & confidence in you while providing them clear information to help them decide whether or not to buy from you.
In a recent study that I did online, I found that customers tend to read the Policies before they shop from a certain boutique online & may skip ahead if the information is missing or not clear.
Today we are going to talk about how to set up your boutique website & must have pages.

Must Have Pages On Your Website —
++ About Us Page - People love to know who they are shopping from. We've all heard the famous quote by Simon Sinek - People don't buy what you sell, they buy WHY you sell it.. ABOUT US page is the best way to showcase your WHY and boost about yourself. Don't be shy girl!!! Shine bright.. brag about your believes, your values & your mission. Don't forget to add a pic of you in there..it helps customers form better connection.
It's also a platform to talk about things you can't always visually represent.
Example - If are someone who believes in Pro-Choice.. you can share your views here. Or talk about any other topic close to your heart. THIS not only helps you establish a connection with your tribe & also stand out from other boutiques in your niche.
++ Product Description - Since your customers are shopping online, shoppers rely on a combination of their imagination, image of products and description to enhance the feeling of owning the product. The more powerful the feeling, the more likely are the chances of them purchasing it. It’s essential to write a powerful description which is also UNIQUE & provides key details about the product.
++ Size Guide Page - Since it's an online boutique and customers can't see or try your products, having a SIZE GUIDE is a must. It will not only make running a boutique easy but it also reduces returns & unhappy customers.
++ Shipping Policy - In times of Amazon Prime where customers are used to getting things the next day... you've got to clear on your store's shipping policies.
Do you offer free shipping on all orders?
Free shipping over a certain threshold?
Do you offer flat rate shipping?
Do you have carrier calculated shipping at checkout?
Be clear on what customers can expect. It’s important to choose the option that works in your favor as a small business.
++ Exchanges/Returns/ Refund Policy - Just like shipping, it's essential to tell your customers what your exchange, return or refund policies are.
How long after receipt of a package will you accept returns and exchanges?
Will you accept for any reason or only if items are damaged?
Will you give money back refunds or only store credit?
Be sure to set a policy that works for both you & your customer. If you can't decide what to set up.. ask yourself would you shop from a store that had these policies?! If not.. you know what to do!
++ Privacy Policy - No one wants to give their personal information to a business that will sell it or use it with ill intent. Just make sure to be clear on what information you collect about your customers, how you use it and why.
++ FAQs - Lastly the FAQ page. Have some info you want to share with your customers that can't be covered in the topics above?! Use this page. You might not know WHAT to add initially but while running your boutique, keep an eye on Qs you are getting asked frequently.. add them to this page so next time you get a message you can simply direct them to the page instead of having replying them. Saves time & allows you to work smarter NOT harder.
Adding these information on your website will ensure that your customer has all the information beforehand so they can make their choice of shopping with you or not.
I know it doesn't sound great.. for someone starting a boutique and wanting sale & making money.. You want people to come & buy from you but trust me.. I've been there and I've realized it's better to have less sales than more sales with unhappy customers because either they didn't read the description or the information on the boutique RIGHT or you forgot to mention something & they assumed before buying from you.
