Getting Clear On Your Brand
Before we start working on your boutique website, let’s take a minute to talk about creating / getting clear on your boutique’s brand.
We often hear the words brand & branding thrown around a lot these days when it comes to boutique or businesses in general! But what does it REALLY mean?
Branding is what people say about you when you are NOT in the room.
It’s so much more than your logo, your font or the colors. . . but it’s ALSO in your Social Media Posts, the way you interact with others, your systems, your packaging & more.
When you think about making a transaction (whether it’s shopping for a physical item or a service), you often buy from businesses, and people that you like and trust. You buy from brands that feature influencers you admire or you buy from businesses that do more than just sell you their products or services.
Hence, it’s safe to say that — Your brand is your VIBE!
It’s what communicates your message to your tribe. It’s what tells them that you GET them, that you are the go-to babe, and that you have what they are looking for – it sets the foundation the experience of doing business with you!
This means that creating your brand needs to be an important part of your marketing strategy + plan!
Without a solid brand, you may send mixed signals.
And if there's ONE THING we know-- it's that confused customers don't buy!
Here are 3 questions you can ask to create or redefine your branD —
What does your boutique do + how do you do it better than anyone else? [[This is SO important-- if you don't know, how the hell do you expect your customers to?!]]
Write down why your business exists and why you’re different than everyone else.
What images and words do you want your audience to think about when they hear your name?
Make a list of the words and emotions that you want people to associate with your business. Add to that list the characteristics of your boutique. Who are you and what are you about?
What are the advantages and benefits of buying from YOU vs other brands?
Why would your tribe want to purchase products from you? What do they gain? For example, do you provide exceptional customer service? Do you offer quick shipping or hassle free return?
Now Pull It All Together!
With these answers, narrow your ideas down to one concept that you know you can communicate effectively to your audience and place in the minds of the people you do business with!
>>This is now your brand definition.
Remember that clarity + consistency are essential.
Once you have a clear-cut brand definition, it’s important to make sure that you project that brand in every marketing piece you create and share!
>>Make sure it also lines up with your three words!

Remember, your brand is the promise you make to your customers. Your brand embodies the qualities, characteristics, values, and ideas that are representative of your business. Your brand is your business image, the message you project through words, logos, photos, video, audio, and more.
Keep your branding consistent in all of your business endeavors. This is exceptionally important for all of your social media channels and profiles. When potential and existing customers see the same branding repeatedly, it helps them to remember you, what you stand for, what you believe in, what your "promise" looks like (your logo), and what they can expect from you. But most of all, consistency encourages people to trust you.
